Since 1987 Rosemary Reed has built Double R into a creative, value-added communications and television/video production firm. Double R serves satisfied clients ranging from major national agencies and Fortune 500 companies to government, local arts and non-profit organizations. Reed began her media career as a radio station news director, establishing her reputation in Washington, DC at the FOX network as the executive producer of “Panorama” with Maury Povich. To this day, the program still stands as one of the nation’s longest running, live, daily talk shows. She also produced the first weekend news hour for WTTG-TV (Metromedia) in DC. Reed’s career as a reporter, anchor and special projects television producer/director allowed her to cover all major regions of the country, including producing and broadcasting crisis situations in Israel and El Salvador. Reed has taken her company international, on assignment in Cambodia, Russia, Mexico and Belgium. Reed’s award-winning work has received recognition and awards too numerous to mention. Reed’s media experience both in front of the camera and behind the scenes, an academic background in theatre and speech, plus teaching experience on the high school and college levels provide Reed with exceptional qualifications for media training. For more than 20 years, Michael Gionis has brought his creative eye and fast, cost-effective, innovative techniques to every project he touches at Double R. The award-winning editor has worked on Avid systems since the video and audio production technology was first released. Gionis specializes in color correction, audio sweetening, keying and layering. He is well versed and experienced in working with still images, graphics and footage in any format. In addition to bringing technical talent to his editing work, Gionis is skilled in the art of storytelling. In other words, he’s not just a button-pusher, as he brings his many skills and creativity to every project he touches.
Since joining the Double R team in 2011, Paul Jamali has learned what it means to wear many hats. From editing on Avid to shooting footage, Jamali is well versed in all aspects of production. The award-winning editor came to Double R as an intern through The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars. As a staff member of the Double R team, Jamali now helps transform Double R’s interns into production assistants. He leads them in lessons ranging from lighting, camera techniques and studio set up to operating TelePrompTer and of course editing. Double R isn’t the only black and red jacket Jamali sports. He’s a supporter of DC United and proudly wears that brand, too. Jamali spends his weekends exploring the outdoors in Shenandoah National Park and dining out with friends at the newest DC restaurants and local breweries. He is an aficionado when it comes to local happenings.
Ever since he was a young boy, Jose Galvez Bustamante knew that video production was his passion. Born and raised in Culiacan, Mexico, he grew up watching television and dreaming of one day being part of the magical world of video. During his college years, he interned at Double R and promised to come back to DC someday. As a full time Double R employee, he brings the experience he gained at Univision in San Diego, where he worked at a Spanish-speaking morning show as a writer and floor manager. Whether running camera for a shoot or greeting people at the door of the office, Galvez smiles and gives his best. He is glad to be back at Double R designing and editing.
Faith DeVeaux is handling public relations and communications for the company’s productions and is especially busy helping get the word out about Double R’s 30th anniversary this year. DeVeaux is from Los Angeles and has worked at various entertainment companies during her career. During her time in Washington, DC, she has been a government contractor and produced independent film projects. She is a published author, and also brings nonprofit experience into the mix, as a board member for Women and Film in Video.
At a young age, Eurah Lee quickly realized the endless career opportunities studying abroad in Spain and Shanghai. New people and cultures excite her almost as much as finding the perfect audio to match a visual. At Double R Lee brings energy to connect vision and help produce results. She began working with Verizon Digital Media to deliver and display content on multiple platforms worldwide. Her skills range from producing documentaries, shooting and editing raw footage, and coordinating events in Los Angeles and New York. With her multilingual skills, she is eager to work with passionate visionaries who share a common goal in educating society. Lee is an efficient and enthusiastic bridge between clients, their mission and their audience.
SanQuan Long comes to Double R from the DC DOES/LEAP (Learn, Earn, Advance, Prosper) Program via the Office of Cable Television, Film, Music & Entertainment (OCTFME). A former student at West Virginia University, Long is spending a year with Double R as an apprentice after successfully graduating from our Double R internship program in 2016. With high hopes of working in the industry one day, Long is a jack-of-all-trades kind of guy and currently has a hand in all phases of production. With his assistance in the office and in the field, he helps tie together any loose ends to ensure a well rounded and successful video solution for our clients and intern team.
Every collegiate semester Double R welcomes a great group of new interns from all over the world. We welcome some of the best and brightest interns from a wide array of academic disciplines and geographical locations. Since 1989 Double R has provided a hands-on experience in the communications world, tasking them with everything from production assistance & script writing, to shooting & editing. By the time our interns leave the Double R offices, they are equipped with the knowledge and experience to succeed in the broadcast communications world, and a demo reel to boot!
Soojin Im is a senior at Dongduk Women’s University in Seoul, South Korea where she majors in English and Education for secondary schooling. As a student she was a member of her university’s broadcasting organization and hopes to become a visionary broadcaster in South Korea upon completion of her studies. Im has always aspired to live and work in the United States to further her passion and acquire more skills to make an impact in her country. She is excited to intern at Double R through the Korean government program, Work, English, Study, and Travel (WEST). She is happy to be a part of the mission of the company while acquiring practical skills in the media and TV production industry. One of her big goals is, of course, improving her English.
Julien Panaro is a senior Marketing and Economics major from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Panaro came to Double R through The Washington Center for Internships program. At school, he is an active member of the International Business Association and is part of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society. While in Washington for the summer, he hopes to improve his professional skills, meet interesting people, and learn the ins and outs of TV production. After graduation, Panaro hopes to start a career in advertising and is also considering graduate school to study psychology or law, but only after he finds a job first.
Sarah Rudy is a recent graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in communications media. Sarah came to Double R through the Washington Center for Internships. During her time at IUP, she took part in campus activities, such as Delta Phi Epsilon Sorority and IUPTV, her university’s television station. Her interest in the news and current events inspires her to pursue a career as a news producer. During her internship experience, Sarah hopes to learn more about the media field and also explore Washington, DC.
