I cannot believe that Andrew, Lynnette and I are just one week away from finishing out our internship at Double R Productions. Although I am extremely excited about going home and seeing all of my friends and family again, I am still a bit saddened to leave behind the camaraderie that has developed between us interns and the fun that I have had working with the entire Double R crew this semester. Nevertheless, I thought that this, my last blog post, would be an excellent opportunity for me to provide some advice to all future Double R interns in the form of a top 10 list.
10. Come willing and ready to learn
9. Be flexible
8. Stay patient, determined, and persistent in the “Everyone’s in Sales” project, and your work will pay off
7. Make connections, both on a professional & personal level
6. Be organized and plan ahead
5. Budget time and money wisely- working as a full-time, unpaid intern in DC ain’t cheap and free time isn’t all that plentiful either
4. Set high goals but celebrate small accomplishments
3. Enjoy yourself- it’s definitely important to work hard but don’t take yourself too seriously
2. Always strive to one up your own work performance
1. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes- these allow you to learn from your error and, ultimately, become a better person
Goodbye and good luck on all your future endeavors!
