When I decided to join Double R Productions, I knew that my summer would be filled with hands-on learning and exciting new opportunities. What I didn’t know was that the team I would be working with would make great friends as well as coworkers!
Andrew, Grant, and I have a lot in common. We are all ambitious, motivated students hoping to gain valuable experiences that will help us when we start the job hunt, which is closer than I would like to think! As interns, we are so dedicated to our success that we nicknamed ourselves “Team Overachiever.” We hope this name inspires us to work hard and gain as much knowledge as possible!
We started the week with a scavenger hunt to become familiar with the Dupont Circle area. We went to the bank, the post office, local bakeries, and even the building where Rosemary lives, taking funny photos along the way. Later in the week, I worked as a production assistant at the Washington Gas vehicle safety video shoot. I knew that this internship would be immersive, but I had no idea I would be working in the field within the first week!
I hope that this summer in D.C. is educational not just professionally, but culturally as well. My plan is to go to all of the monuments and museums, eat at delicious local restaurants, and make new friends. I’ve already started this goal by visiting the Newseum and tasting crab cakes and salmon at Washington’s oldest restaurant, Old Ebbitt Grill. I think I am well on my way to making this the best possible summer!
