Leaving Double R Productions is extremely hard. Although I will get to take a break from editing videos, writing blogs, and hanging out with the Double R staff, I will miss everyone here and cherish the memories I made. I came to Double R Productionswith very little experience in shooting and editing video. After my summer here in Washington, D.C., I now know how to operate a camera and edit video in Avid Media Composer. I have met Catherine, Michael, Paul, Rodger and Rosemary, and they have all helped me grow and become a better journalist and made my summer something I will never forget.

I can’t believe my time here at Double R Productions is over. The internship flew by, and as the summer comes to a close looking back at what we accomplished is impressive. In a short ten weeks not only were we apart of several official Double R shoots and projects but also we completed seven videos that were our own assignments. One video in particular may even help an author land an interview on Oprah’s “OWN” network. When looking back there is an overwhelming sense of accomplishment. I’m very proud of not only my work, but also the work of the intern team. I want to thank both Robert and Caitlin for making my time here enjoyable and being great to work with. Also, I would like to recognize Rosemary and the entire Double R Productions’ staff for bringing us all together and providing such a valuable internship. I look forward to keeping in touch with everyone, and to see where we all end up.

My summer at Double R Productions felt as though I was part of a superhero team. Of course, we are not flying around buildings or levitating cars with our mind, (which would be awesome), but this summer we learned how to balance an array of objectives. Similar to any superhero, we had big villains to fight against. Those villains were called Deadlines, AVID, and Time Management! As a team, we overcame these obstacles and truly rose victorious. I can’t articulate properly the amount of growth I’ve endured here at Double R from editing to improving my people skills. I’m proud to say this summer at Double R Productions has been one of the best! We might not have a Bat Signal in the sky like Batman, but when you see the Double R Logo in the sky, be rest assured our superhero team saves you from bad video tyranny!
