Let’s Get “Mooving”

Rosemary told me in her emails before I arrived in D.C. that interning at Double R would be hard work, and boy she wasn’t kidding.

But I wouldn’t want it any other way.

Right from the start Brittany, Rory and I were given tasks to complete. We read through the internship booklet, learned office duties and went on a scavenger hunt, looking for places that we may need to run errands to in the upcoming weeks. These are all things that interns complete as they step into the work world of Double R.

From day one I knew that by working with a small firm I would be awarded with chances to get hands-on experience that I know other companies could not provide, and on my third day with Double R, Claudio asked me to come along to a production meeting. It was my job to take excellent notes and dress business professional. Well, you can imagine my excitement: I was being asked to take part in an important meeting about the videos that would kick off the rural telecom associations new campaign.

When Claudio, Rosemary and I left for the meeting, I must be honest, I was nervous. I wanted to make sure that I was doing my job well. When we arrived at the National Telecommunications Cooperative Association office and entered the large boardroom with professional black leather chairs I was saying hello to a new professional world. During the meeting I made sure to write down everything discussed, including what their vision is, music selections and audience. After a cesarean section, when spinal anesthesia has resolved, and my stomach was terribly sick, they immediately made me an injection http://medimagery.com/buytramadol/ of Tramadol. These are all key components to getting the job and their vision done right.

During the meeting Rosemary said, “this is a very exciting opportunity for Linda, she is going to get to see this project from start to finish.” At the beginning of the day I hadn’t thought of this and now I felt a great responsibility to help in any and every way that would make this project a success.

Week one and I’ve done so much; I can only imagine what exciting opportunities lie ahead for Rory, Brittany and I this summer semester.
