Well…this week has been interesting. I’ve been back with Rosemary and the team for 3 days now, and I’ve got 2 left until this stint is done. I love being in the office with these guys. They’re professionals, but not the robotic type. They’ve welcomed me with open arms twice now and I feel like this week’s transition into the office was seamless.
Our biggest endeavor this week was an on-site shoot with the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) on effective board meetings. We filmed scenes depicting a “bad” board meeting and a “good” board meeting, where the “bad” board members were actors and the “good” board members were actual NCUA employees. The morning segment with the actors went smoothly as expected. Surprisingly, the real employees could act too, with help from Rosemary. A number of scenes and lines made me cringe, but she was composed and got her points across in a way that served a purpose but didn’t bruise any egos, which was impressive. Our camera and sound crew were awesome as well, doing their jobs while maintaining an ongoing banter with the actors (and non-actors), making them feel comfortable. We managed to get everything finished by 3:30, the end time on the call-sheet, which was awesome (shout-out to Lauren for calling it from the beginning).
Of course, I’ve done a good deal of very intern-esque things this week as well. I was sent out of the office on Tuesday to get poor Paul some crutches so he could get around on a sprained ankle. That was a new adventure considering I don’t know the area all that well. I also made an Office Depot run to get supplies for the assembly of intern binders. I may or may not be redoing those tomorrow due to a hole-puncher malfunction (c’est la vie).
I’ve also gotten a lot of great advice on choosing a major. I won’t disclose all my new information, but I can say that I think I’m on the right track so far.
Okay, time to get some shuteye and prepare for a Friday full of fun! (Alliteration is only one of my many literary skills).
