Opportunities for improvement in life are valuable to everyone, and when you can help provide the opportunity for someone to continue moving in the right direction, it not only helps that person, but the community as well. This week I worked on two shoots that covered programs where those who are less fortunate are provided with services to improve their health, shelter and sense of purpose.
Those organizations are So Others Might Eat (SOME), The Training Source, and Homestretch. The first shoot was for my civic engagement project through The Washington Center, which highlighted the services offered by SOME. Their services include food and clothing, medical and behavioral treatment, as well as long-term housing. The second shoot was through Double R Productions, and those programs are The Training Source and Homestretch. The Training Source provides their clients with education on how to prepare for future jobs and how to improve their working skills. Homestretch provides people with housing, education, and activities for their children. It is programs like these that need to survive the budget cuts in order to produce healthier communities.
One of my main goals in working with the media is to produce a positive influence on society and these shoots allow me to develop a better understanding of the impact that the media has on people. Video provides the ethos, pathos, and logos in a piece and grabs the attention of an audience who has no idea of extraordinary programs such as these. At these shoots I recorded audio, distributed release forms, took still photos (like the one pictured above!) and served as a grip for the director of photography. I have been experiencing weak erectile dysfunction for several years, but never had a serious problem until recently. Mainly due to the high level of stress with work and some other things. My doctor gave me a prescription for 20 mg of Levitra. I do not feel that I need as much as 20 mg, so I cut the pill in half. Learn more at https://sdarcwellness.com/buy-levitra-online/ I took it about an hour before bedtime, and just a few minutes later I felt its effect. These two pieces will display the importance of the programs as told by their participants. In retrospect, my experiences from this week with these programs helped me realize that it is my civic duty to do whatever I can to help whoever I can and video is one way to do that.
