During our internship at Double R, we have had a few mishaps, but we have learned many things as interns and production assistants. With that being said, we’ve embarked on one of our biggest assignments to date, we had filmed the Think Local Awards live event. This award ceremony showcased and awarded many local businesses here in DC. Rosemary had entrusted us with the task of coming up with our production plan and producing it from start to finish. We had the opportunity to interview the winner of the Trailblazer Award, Chef Ruth Gresser.
We then scoped out the awards venue the next day, and went on to the Award ceremony that week.
Besides the awards show, we had other projects going on as well. For instance, we all had submitted postcard ideas for Double R and luckily one of my ideas, along with another intern’s, were picked for the postcard. We then had to combine them and create the postcard on Illustrator. I am not good at Adobe Illustrator because I have never used it before. But, I was eager to learn because I got to try something new. It has been tedious and frustrating, but it was all worth it because the postcard turned out really well. Not only was I creating the postcard, but it was also my turn to contribute to our wonderful blog. We also had our vlog due at the end of next week, which is now completed.
This has been by far the busiest week we have had, but I enjoyed it. The whole week was filled with filming, editing, revising, learning new design programs and a little stress. But as Rosemary likes to say, “we do it with a smile.” It may have been a busy week, but the finished projects were well worth it.
