Before leaving Belgium, 15 weeks seemed like a very long period of time. Looking back on the past 14 weeks, however, makes me realize once more how fast time flies. I can’t even begin to describe how much I have learned, how much fun I have had, how many new people I have met and how much I enjoyed working at Double R Productions.
Ever since day one, I knew I would love working for this well-oiled, woman-owned production machine. I say machine because although it might seem like a small company, the team produces piece after piece, day after day with only five full-time staff members and three alternating, semester-bound interns. To be able to be a part of this team was a true honor and I would never have chosen a different internship placement if I was to go back in time.
Steadily I have seen Father Time pass by, taking with him project after project. And I have enjoyed working on, assisting, researching, editing and producing each and every one of them. Even though we were sometimes overloaded with work, exhausted or overtaken by stress because of a missed deadline, I still think we delivered great quality work from which I have learned a lot.
With only 11 more days to go, 5 of which are office days and 3 of those 5 are NAB days working with Senators and Representatives, we still have a lot of work to do and deadlines to make. But I am confident that we will make it. And so the end is near…
