For the past couple of weeks, my alarm clock annoyed me at 5:30 in the morning. We arrive at video shoots early to set up before our talent arrives. I kid you not; I’m literally the first person to arrive at every shoot location. The call sheet will say, “Meeting time: 8:30 a.m.” I’ll be there at 7:30 a.m. I walk from the RAF to wherever the destinations are instead of taking the metro because you can’t depend on it with all the “construction” going on everyday. I’m still the early bird. However, as Rosemary says, “the early bird gets the worm first.” I have my own saying as well: “To be early is to be on time, and to be on time is to be late.” I’ve enjoyed the process of a video shoot these past couple of weeks. I’ve met some cool people, but Gino has my vote for being the coolest. The man is flat-out one of the funniest guys I’ve met in a while. It’s difficult and tricky for close friends and family to make me laugh, but for some reason Gino really cracks me up.
This week Blake, Amelie, and I shot and edited our first vlog. Everyone was pleased with it, but I still find it awkward watching yourself on the screen. However, I’m changing my ways and I will embrace the spotlight instead of avoiding it.
I can’t believe how fast these weeks are moving by. I guess this is what happens when you are constantly busy, right? I must admit, I’ve been stressed out with graduation, classes, family, friends and finances. However, I try to stay positive. One piece of news that really lifted my spirits this week is that I received the title “Uncle”. My older brother had a child and she is the first girl in my family! That really creeps me out because I have a feeling there are more baby girls coming. I guess it’s time for a change.
