When venturing out early in the morning to shoot the Foggy Bottom West End Village piece, with my fellow interns, I was a bit apprehensive. We prepared and knew what to do, but even so, since it was our first project on our own, doubts seeped into my mind.
Foggy Bottom West End Village is a community organization that helps residents 36-99 years old live independently in their homes, they also offer services and social activities. For our pro bono piece Chloe, Rachel, and I are going to shoot a video to help promote awareness of this community organization.
None the less, the shoot was a blast. Absolutely everyone was understanding and helpful. Jane Scholz personally escorted Rachel, Chloe, and I to all of the locations. What I loved most about the shoot were the wonderful people we met. Don’t get me wrong, I also loved that the fact that the shoot ran smoothly with no major hiccups. The people are one of the best parts of doing what we do. In between takes, Denise Vogt and her father enlightened us with colorful stories full of history. If there hadn’t been a schedule to follow, I could have stayed all day to listen. But we had a mission to fulfill.
The next people we interviewed were the Clarks. The Clarks were the sweetest couple I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. I can’t possibly put into words how great the Clarks were. Mr. Clark, 89 and Mrs. Clark, 78 have been married for years and the love they have for each other radiated off of them. Since their interview was the last one, we to talked and worked with them for longer than we anticipated. The FBWE Village is a great organization for which I am grateful to have worked with. My team and I will create a video that will do it justice.
