Don’t Forget That Working Is All About Fun

Two weeks have already passed since we first began our internship at Double R Productions.  I feel like we interns are doing a great job, or at least trying to do our best.
Since I came to America, I’ve thought a lot about the American working style.  This week, the Double R Team shot the B roll on behalf of Maslow media group for the National Credit Union Administration. I joined as a production assistant. One lesson I have learned from this shoot is listening to the advice of professionals is a key factor to successful filming.

Some may think that shooting B- Roll all day might be boring, but it wasn’t boring at all because there were many little funny stories.  During this shoot, the Double R team kept smiling and doing their best despite that they were tired. When I felt tired, Gino’s funny stories made me forget my tiredness and recharged me. I discovered that Americans don’t forget to laugh and to have fun even though they are working.  It is a new thing for me, because in Mongolia and Japan, people are taking their jobs too seriously and fail to see some of the little funny stories that are happening around them.

Also especially in Japan, working is all about manuals and rules, there is almost no space for employees to work in their own style.  At Double R, Rosemary gives us tasks with deadlines, but how to do or when to do the task is up to us. Rosemary always says,  “Don’t be overwhelmed”. I think it is very true because you cannot be creative if you are overwhelmed and worrying about the multiple tasks.

I enjoy that I am a part of the amazing team at Double R Productions!!!
