Double R shot a highlights video of the Contemporary Violin Makers Exhibition in New York last weekend. About 1,200 people showed up to the event, many of whom said they found out about it in The New York Daily News. In order to get the exhibition as much visitors as possible, the Double R intern team sent out a press release for the event. I was fortuned enough to get the task of writing the release, the first one I’ve ever written, in a foreign language to add some more firsts! With help from Catherine this project had a successful outcome. She proofread, corrected the grammar and added some wonderful sentences I could have never come up with.
We sent the press release to major media companies in the NY area. The New York Times and WABC are just a few of the contacts that offered to cover the event.
And now here is something I’ve learned from this project: Don’t be afraid to call up those big stations! Sometimes they have no time to read all of their emails and a phone call makes them look up your message. But always be friendly and not too big of a stalker!
