The Early Bird Gets the Role

  • admin

On the morning of September 12th 2016, I stepped off of the train and soaked in the crisp air of Old Town Alexandria. I was on my way to the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) for my first production shoot with Double R Productions. Passing by businessmen and women on their way to work, I made my way across the street and to the front door of the building.

Everyone greeted me with kindness and respect. At security I met the Director of Photography; a well-experienced man name Gino. We talked briefly about past experiences while waiting for the rest of the crew to arrive. The building was very exquisitely detailed, with a framed picture of President Obama hanging behind the front desk. I could tell I was in for a very remarkable day.

Finally the crew arrived and we set for an upstairs conference room. Several men were sitting here, waiting to update the script. We set up to shoot a piece about diversity in the workplace and keeping confidential information on a need-to-know basis, respectively. I learned a lot about how to apply shine-free powder on both actors and non-actors alike. I also appeared in the confidentiality video, which was an amazing experience.

I felt honored to take part in such a productive day. I walked back to the train with a strong sense of accomplishment. From the people that I worked with to the members of the NCUA staff, I was thrilled to help put together a production they were going to use time and time again.
