Engaging Events With Double R

  • admin

It has now been about three weeks since Inhye and I began our internship with Double R  and we have already done more than we could have imagined.  Aside from working in the office, we’ve assisted with the production of a few different events around the city. The first of which was for a non profit called HumanitiesDC, thanking members of the City Council for a generous donation of $1,000,000.  It was truly a great opportunity for me to meet many people from different walks of life. The event had such a positive energy that made quite an impact on us and everyone else.  When the world seems so divided at times, it was really nice to be at an event where everyone there was celebrating each other and the culture of Washington, DC.

The most recent event was serving as Production Assistants for a live-stream panel for DiscoverE, with Evolving Communications.  DiscoverE is a group that promotes women in the engineering field. The panel consisted of three women, of all different backgrounds who are aspiring engineers.  It was led by Fox News host, Holly Morris, with special appearances from congressman Dan Lipinski and Bruce Westerman.  This was the first livestream event that we have assisted with, while it was a little chaotic at times, it was great to experience it. We learned more about the process and work that goes into a live event.  We also assisted with setting up the gear and making sure the program ran smoothly.

This is just the beginning of the many experiences we will have with Double R.

On February 11th, Double R Productions with Aquarian Entertainment held a media training workshop for American Trucking Associations (ATA). The media training involves teaching people on how to be presentable and professional in the media.

I have assisted with media trainings several times throughout my internship, but it was my first time assisting a large-scale media training for about 16 people.  From this experience, I learned that media training is essential to everyone. As the media is growing, many people stand in front of the camera to advertise themselves or the company. Even if one trainee was a good speaker in public, he or she would become nervous in front of the camera and didn’t perform as well. In order to professionally present yourself in front of a camera, you need to continuously and monitor your progress. You can do this through Double R’s media training!
