Footage at Ford’s Theatre

  • admin

I arrived at Double R this past Tuesday and was warmly greeted by the other interns, Holly and Erin, as well as the Double R team. I was quickly updated on all of the procedures and current projects and informed that I would be going on a shoot the very next day. Holly and Erin came up with a great idea for our In-The-Camera project involving the scandal of Abraham Lincoln’s missing boots.

It turns out that someone stole the late president’s boots from his room after he was shot nearly 150 years ago. Recently, a Massachusetts woman whose family had passed the boots down to her graciously donated them to the Ford Museum. The other interns and I went to the Ford Museum, set up the camera outside and shot interviews about the scandal.

My portion of the project involved talking to tourists on the street and asking them fun yet interesting questions on the subject. I had a great time being creative and learning the ins and outs of filming. What a wonderful start to a great internship!
