The shoot with Everybody Grows, our pro-bono project, went splendidly last Thursday. Everybody Grows is a non-profit organization in D.C., with the mission of bringing a home garden to everybody, wherever their homes might be. We shot at two locations: Fire station Engine 26 and Stoddard Baptist Nursing Home. “Everybody Grows” is the very first project that we have to independently coordinate all aspects of productions: from outlining, to preparing the call sheet, shooting, script writing, and editing. In addition, we each had the opportunity to play new and unique roles during the shoot. For example: in order to get some decent b-roll at both locations, we took on the role of “plant stylists” at the nursing home’s garden, and “food stylists” at the fire station. The opportunity to work independently offered us valuable experience to put towards the comprehensive picture of productions.
