Working on a Saturday? Say it ain’t so. It’s true. Carina, David and I got our hands dirty last Saturday as we tuned up our rusty video camera skills. A protest with more than 100 people packed Dupont Circle in a grassroots effort to fight the budget-repair bill in Wisconsin. We grabbed the opportunity and put our camera skills to work.
Upon arrival, we saw a sea of protestors waving signs in the air such as, “cheese heads everywhere support Wisconsin,” and “workers rights equal human rights.” The large crowd burst into an uproar chanting, “kill the bill!”
We immediately got busy.
Carina snapped still pictures of the shouting https://bea-skincare.com/wp/buy-accutane-online/ protesters. David shot b-roll of colorful signs and rally speakers. I assisted with the white balancing and holding the boom mic. Most exciting, was interviewing protesters and providing a stand-up at the rally.
This week we have been busy digitizing the video footage, and piecing it together on the Avid. Despite coming to work on a Saturday, the experience was worth it. We gained confidence with operating the video camera, interviewing people, and editing on Avid. Plus, it was my first time seeing a protest in DC. After a quick tune up, we are now running like a well-oiled machine!
