After interning at Double R Productions for only around two weeks, I quickly learned how busy and exciting this business is! Tuesday was my first shoot with Double R and I assisted with set up, hair, make up, and took lots of notes along the way. I actually got a first-hand account of how much planning it takes from the entire production team just for one shoot, and let me tell you, it is a lot! It was very exciting, and I had so much fun working with Gino, the director of photography, Rosemary and Daniel, the grip. I am feeling more and more confident each day, and I can honestly say I absolutely love it here at Double R! I never know what sort of new and thrilling adventure each day is going to bring; I am definitely not bored!
Speaking of adventures, Vicrina and I had quite the day on Wednesday. It was the 12th anniversary of 9/11 and there were many events going on around the Capitol, so we decided to join in on the action and capture some footage! We interviewed participants in the “2 Million Bikers to DC” which included just that, a lot of motorcycles! We walked from Double R Productions to Pennsylvania Avenue with all of the equipment (mind you, this is around a 30 minute walk and it was around 95 degrees that day, but that was definitely not going to stop two determined interns!) We started off a little shaky and unsure of what we were doing, but we picked up on things very quickly and it helped a lot that Vicrina has previous broadcasting skills! After a long, hot, exhausting day, we ended up getting some great shots and interviews that made everything so worth it. I love interning here at Double R and I’m looking forward to the many adventures that await me in the future!
