At Double R Rory, Brittany and I hear about editing and shooting client videos everyday. The Double R team works hard to deliver an outstanding finished video to our clients time and time again. As a part of the intern team I see the method behind making a video but hadn’t been an active member of the shooting process until now!
Of course Rory, Brittany and I use the camera to shoot a package news story and other various assignments but the All Hands on Deck project is our first chance to create a client video from start to finish.
All Hands on Deck is a new program that reaches out to those less fortunate in the community, and its first venture was to fix up a homeless shelter from inside and out. More then $6,000 of supplies were donated by Home Depot, and numerous volunteers gave their time to help out in a big way!
I was so excited to learn about the All Hands on Deck project, knowing that at this point in our internship Rory, Brittany and I were given a chance to show Double R what we can do. We spent the day shooting interviews, filming plenty of b-roll and even volunteering to help paint and fill the coolers with drinks to keep everyone hydrated on that very hot day.
(In fact, at 106° it was the hottest day of the summer!)
From consulting to shooting, script writing and editing, Rory, Brittany and I are learning what it really means to have creative rein over producing an amazing video for a client.
