My name is Soojin Im and I am from South Korea. I am Double R’s new intern for Fall 2016/Spring 2017. I am attending Dongduk Women’s University in Seoul, Korea, majoring in English and Education for secondary schooling. I came all the way to the US for my first internship through the Korean government program, Work, English, Study, and Travel (WEST). The purpose of the WEST program is to help young Korean college students map out their career paths and obtain a global mindset by providing internship opportunities in the US based on their majors, interests, or experiences.
I worked as a student member at my university’s broadcasting organization and this experience made me dream of becoming a broadcaster after I finish my studies. Therefore, I am so happy to start my internship at Double R. It is the perfect place where I get to have a hands-on experience and learn practical skills in the media and TV production industry. Plus, this will be one of the greatest times for me to improve my English and enjoy the beautiful historical architecture in D.C. everyday (Can you imagine killing three birds with one stone?)!
There are lots of exciting projects coming up at Double R and I am looking forward to being a part of it in every moment. Thank you again, Double R, for welcoming me warmly.
