Lights, Camera, Action: A week of Production

  • admin
This week panned out to be busier than anticipated. We had tentatively scheduled filming for our vlog to come out next Thursday.  Conflicting plans took precedence instead. The interns attended a suicide prevention conference that hired Double R to live stream and capture the speakers. Although I was out of the office on Monday, Kyle served as the production assistant for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention live streaming event to promote their Advocacy Forum Week.  He worked the better part of the day while the same event on Wednesday merely kept me out of the office until early afternoon.
Tuesday, around noon, we departed the office as an intern team to meet with the Everybody Grows founders, Gail and Jake Ifshin. Everybody Grows is our pro bono beneficiary for the summer. They treated us to lunch over which we discussed marketing ideas for their nonprofit. The meeting segmented our day making it fruitless to set up to film in either morning or afternoon. However, we achieved a firm understanding of the mission unique to Everybody Grows and sent them an outline proposing our ideas for their mini documentary style production.
Wednesday afternoon, we saw the insert studio used to its fullest potential as a re-shoot for the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) was executed to end the day. To wrap up the week, we conducted research to accumulate footage and information to assist with a Red Eye Post project. To complete the day, Rosemary, leading the Double R team, will assess our marketing campaign presentation to determine the feasibility of the advertisement and production.
