We arrived at our director of photography’s house to shoot a good day of b-roll for our two public service announcements. Upon arrival, a charismatic border collie named Archie greeted us. The day looked promising as we set up and hung out with Archie before the talent arrived. Fun fact: Archie is the only dog I know that walks up stairs backwards. Kelley Anne, Kate, and I acted as pompous teenagers in the public service announcement b-roll. It was a great experience to be on camera, which is quite different from working behind the scenes observing the actors. However, our acting work was not yet over.
On Thursday, Kate and I were yet again on camera for a train video as extras. I, of course, played “the bad guy” in one of the scenes. The day was full of running around from scene to scene, location to location, but it never seemed exhausting. It was a lot of fun—minus the rain—plus I got to work with the wonderful Gino, who is full of stories and jokes.
