I Found What I Dreamed For?
In November of last year, I found myself staring at my wall of dreams. I knew I needed an experience that would teach me lessons I couldn’t learn in the classroom. After being accepted into The Washington Center, an internship program in D.C, I prayed for an internship that would help me become a better multimedia journalist. Double R Productions changed my perspective from “I have a dream” to “I had a dream”, and now it “has happened”. I now have so much to pass on to my fellow classmates at Tennessee State University. When I look back at the semester, I know I have developed into a better professional. Working with Double R Productions made me a tougher person. My passion is to do better on every project I get my hands on, striving to achieve the Double R motto, “We Get It Right!” Instead of dreaming about an experience to happen, I can tell stories about what has taken place. Thank you, Double R, for making my dream a reality.

And Thus A Chapter Closes
As I write my final blog post I reflect on my time at Double R Productions in D.C. This internship allowed me to test the field that I aspire to work in after I graduate from Florida A&M University. Through this internship, I explored a new way of living in the nation’s capital. I worked on projects that grew my ability to communicate with clients, create ideas, write scripts, assist talent, and edit videos. My time here is amazing and I am sad that this period will end soon. Yet, my sadness is mixed with joy and wonder for what the next chapter will bring.

Being Accepted Feels Good
When I first came to America, I couldn’t understand English very well. English is not my first language, and I wasn’t accustomed to dealing with acronyms. Even though I wasn’t good at speaking English, Double R Productions staff accepted me. They taught me how to write a blog, shoot, edit, and contribute to the process of operating a small production company. Now, I have a grip on the video production industry. This understanding is a huge development for me. I really appreciate the Double R staff: Rosemary, Michael, Catherine, Paul, Rodger, and Maxine. Without any support, I would have panicked, but instead I survived. Actually, this week is not my final week! I don’t know exactly what I’m doing for the next couple of weeks, but I’m ready for the challenge.
