“Moooo-ving” Day to Double R

  • admin

At last, my internship in DC is finally here. Where did the time go? I could have sworn it was months ago when I was applying to The Washington Center, feeling anxiety set in as I searched for the perfect internship site. I felt calm and collected the past few months, but my nerves kicked in on the drive to DC, and the first day at Double R.

Coming from a small farm town in Pennsylvania, the city is definitely a change. I’ve visited Washington D.C. before and my dream is to live in a big city, but that’s easier said than done. Upon arrival to Double R, I found everyone welcoming, friendly and helpful. Sure, I expected that everyone would be willing to help, but not to this degree. What’s more, the cows and pigs https://shlclubhouse.org/soma-online/ adorning the office remind me of home on my family’s farm. As soon as I stepped into the office, I knew that this was the place for me. Friendly people that work hard and get the job done, what could be better?

I know that this summer I won’t only thrive and prosper here at Double R, but I will also have the time of my life. I can’t begin to imagine the plethora of skills and knowledge that I’m going to gain this summer, especially while being surrounded by all of these talented and hard-working people. I look forward to any and all projects, no matter what they are. Even if I don’t enjoy them (and I most likely will) at least I will be learning and bettering myself throughout the whole experience!
