Catherine, Claudio and I attended the Greater Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GWHCC) 34th Annual Gala, “Moving Forward and Creating Opportunities” on Friday, June 18, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. The GWHCC was celebrating its accomplishments in supporting small, Hispanic and other local minority-owned businesses in moving forward in a recovering economy. The Gala also provided guests with a social platform to initiate and strengthen partnerships among corporations, associations, and local and federal agencies. Catherine interviewed GWHCC board members and supporters, Claudio held the boom mic and conducted some interviews in Spanish, and I took still photographs and made sure interviewees signed release forms. Double R also shot footage of the silent auction and the drinks and dancing that took place after. The footage will be edited into a gala highlights video for the Chamber. I had a great time at the Gala; I only wish that I had taken salsa lessons before hand!
