Preparation Leads to Quality Work at GWHCC Business Expo

  • admin

Preparation is key! This is something we’re told constantly here at Double R and we have been preparing for the Greater Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GWHCC) Business Expo since the day I arrived. It’s exciting to plan an event that your organization is not only a part of as a corporate sponsor, but also as the GWHCC production team. Double R shot the event for a highlights video.

The Double R crew walked into the Washington Convention Center as a proud group ready to represent the Best Brand in the Business, and we did just that. We decorated our booth with Double R props like the famous cow tablecloth, a Double R poster surrounded by red and black balloons, and our demo reel played on two monitors. At the booth, we spoke with expo visitors about Double R. It’s valuable experiences like these that allow me to gain an insight on what professional organizations are looking for, how to build relationships with possible business partners, and how to network with some of Washington’s finest organizations.

When I wasn’t speaking with visitors at the Double R booth, I helped our production manager, Claudio, and our production coordinator, Catherine, shoot the event. Claudio shot interviews that Catherine conducted with participants of the GWHCC expo, and I recorded the audio. It is vital to have quality audio in your videos and it can be a tiring job that requires you to be on the same page as the person who is recording.

After shooting the event, we found time to actually sit down and reflect on the quality work that we achieved. Although the event is done, the work is not. In post-production, we have to transcribe the interviews, create a script, and put together an extraordinary piece. Once again, preparation comes into play and those steps are necessary in order to produce a video that represents what the event was about and of course the magnificent work that Double R always creates.
