Planning makes perfect
Preparation is key to presenting optimal work. Our Double R Productions President Rosemary Reed says it best, “Prior proper planning prevents piss poor production.”
This week, we are implementing that phrase by preparing for assignments ahead of schedule. We are rigorously brainstorming creative, catchy ideas for Double R’s next postcard. To ignite our imaginative flare, we browse through past intern postcards. Innovative ideas are now illuminating our minds.
Also this week, we started preparing our first vlog, which will be presented in a three-part series. The vlog series allows us to be creative because we choose whatever topic we imagine to share with the public. This is our opportunity to brainstorm, shoot and edit the work we have made. Stay tuned. The first vlog will be ready by the end of this month.
We came, we saw, we tested
The third week at Double R Productions included the intern review quiz.
The intern review is designed to assess our understanding of all the information shared with us through our handy dandy intern booklet. The booklet covers all measures of responsibilities such as receiving phone messages and formatting documents. The test ensures that we understand all of the information given to us. The quiz covers everything from greeting guests to preparing for shoots and editing on AVID.
Upon hearing of an intern review, we felt nervous. The first two weeks at Double R taught us more about production work than we could expect. From creating call sheets, applying makeup, networking with professionals and editing videos, we learned a lot.
Surprisingly, the quiz seemed to be rather easy. That is probably because we enjoy every moment of hard work we put forth at Double R Productions.
We all passed and are looking forward to what next week brings.
Loving Every Moment
Everyday at Double R Productions is a reminder of how fortunate we are to be interning here. At Double R, we are involved in every project and have the opportunity to practice different roles as production assistants. Our input is welcome and we are assets to a job well done.
