In my time at Double R, I realized video editing is not for me, but sales, marketing and PR might be a better fit. My outgoing personality and my ability to engage even the least interested person made me think about public relations. Initially I was a bit apprehensive, but after preparing and rehearsing my phone pitch with Claudio I realized what was there all along – the fact that I could do this and do it well. My last project for Double R was to promote Gospelrobics, an exercise program Double R produced that lifts your body, mind and spirit. My PR skills were put to the test by personally reaching out to churches that would benefit from Gospelrobics. Thankfully within minutes I had gotten through to someone who allowed me to venture down and drop off flyers exhibiting this online exercise program that features interactive workout routines tailored for all ages.
The morning of my big debut, I took the train over to my destination. I later found myself heading back to Double R, flyers still in hand. My contact at that first church didn’t show for our meeting. My willingness did not stop there though, for I followed-up with a phone call to the very same establishment and made a second meeting appointment. As I left the building to hitch a taxi, a sudden rush of adrenaline ran through me. I felt unstoppable and ready to seize the moment, my moment.
