Roarin’ and Ready to Go

  • admin

A little over zealous about making sure we made it to work on time our first day, my fellow interns and I showed up a half hour early at Double R Productions.

We found the elevator to be an experience itself. Like the building where the Double R offices are located, the elevator is a little on the older side and reminded me of the elevators I’ve seen in “Titanic.” The first ride made me a little nervous and will definitely take some getting used to while I’m here.

Upon entering the Double R office, a splash of color met me. From the flying pigs hanging from the ceiling to the stuffed animal cows sitting on top of the intern computers, the office is filled with character that represents the Double R brand. The source of all the character comes from Double R President Rosemary Reed, who grew up on a farm in Nebraska.

With a flurry of energy, Rosemary swept into the office our first morning bearing gifts from Firehook, a local bakery. The other interns and I immediately sat down with her and talked about the projects we will be working on for the semester.

Later that afternoon, Paul, Kelley Anne and I embarked on a scavenger hunt in which we ran around in the heat to find the post office, the bank, and several other places we will be going throughout the semester.

It’s been a busy start and I am loving every minute of it. I can’t wait to help out the Double R team and expand my knowledge of the media production and communications field.
