This blog I’m writing now is my last assignment for the Spring 2020 internship at Double R Productions. A lot of things have happened to me since I landed for the first time in Washington D.C., the capital city of the U.S., and doing an internship at Double R definitely gave me a meaningful change.
When I received the booklet which says “Welcome Seulah” on my first day, I was so nervous and ready to learn new things at the same time because this is my first professional experience in the field of Communications and Media Productions. Doing an internship at Double R is a big opportunity for me. I learned a lot about video productions such as how to edit videos on AVID Media Composer, set up the insert studio, write a script for video projects, and many more. I especially liked going on video shoots because I can see the real process of video production with my eyes and interact with various people while assisting the video crew. I also learned that teamwork is one of the most important things in video production whenever I went on the video shoots.
At Double R, I learned not only about video production but also about PR/Marketing by doing assignments like writing blogs and press releases, uploading Instagram posts, and participating in a PR/Sales/Marketing meeting every Thursday. I designed several GFXs too. I’m a little bit sad because I couldn’t do some assignments that I wanted to do since I had to go back to South Korea unexpectedly, but I’m thankful that I could do an internship remotely from my home.
This semester at Double R was a meaningful and amazing experience for me. I learned what I wanted to learn and more than what I expected to learn from the Double R team. I want to thank Rosemary, Chloe, Michael, Paul, Brianna, and Monique for welcoming me, being nice to me, and teaching me. I wish I could say goodbye to Double R Team in person and meet again.
