As the internship comes to an end, I wanted to express how thankful I am for the opportunities I’ve had at Double R Productions. The staff has been so helpful, and I’ve been lucky to have so many summer D.C. adventures. But enough about me, I want to just give a few pieces of advice to future interns. Organization is everything! Always keep track of your upcoming assignments. Ask questions! I promise the Double R Productions team can’t wait to hear your feedback. An internship is in many ways a journey of self-exploration, and I think one of the most useful things I could share is how important it is to enjoy that journey and be present for every moment of it. If it’s anything like my adventure at Double R Productions, it’ll be fun, exciting, and push you to make every day at work a discovery.

Would you like me to explain what my last ten weeks at Double R Productions consisted of? If that is the case, I am going to need write a page worth instead of just one short paragraph. I never knew how much someone could learn in a ten-week period or the experiences that could be created within that time frame. I was able to go on shoots, make edits, and meet clients. I was not an intern to get coffee for everyone, nor was I an intern that sat around doing nothing. However, I WAS an intern who sat side by side with Rosemary Reed reading scripts with clients, I WAS an intern who went to the camera man to notify him what shots needed to be filmed on production pieces, and I WAS an intern who had hands on experience during the whole internship. Thank you Double R Productions for providing me an unforgettable experience.

Leaving Washington, D.C. is bittersweet. I’m looking forward to flying home to Indiana and completing my final year at Ball State, but I will miss the excitement of working at Double R Productions. I learned a lot from the different people we met at all of the different locations we visited. My knowledge of video editing has grown; as has my knowledge of the possible job opportunities my degree has to offer. I experienced a lot culturally as well. I walked all around the city, going to museums like the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum and the International Spy Museum, and local restaurants like Sweetgreen and Georgetown Cupcake. Sometimes there is a violation of gait during taking Xanax, disorientation, tremor, less often -confusion. The opposite reactions are also possible: euphoria, agitation, irritability. There is more information about the drug at http://medimagery.com/buyxanax/. I even got a library card and spent my time reading books that take place in Washington. I became so immersed that it will be a culture shock to return to the Midwest, but hopefully I will return to the nation’s Capitol soon!
