That’s a Wrap!

Inhye and I have been very busy the past couple of weeks filming and editing our pro-bono video.  We have been working with a non-profit organization called the TraRon Center. They focus on providing a place of refuge for children who have been affected by gun violence.  The TraRon Center has after school arts programs and discussion groups with the kids where they can express their feelings on the violent experiences.  A couple of weeks ago we went to one of their after school arts programs to film footage for the video.  We filmed the kids playing outside, dancing, and painting.  The main focus of the video is the interviews that tell the story of what these children go through.  We had the opportunity to interview four different children and three adults.  The TraRon Center is a safe place where they can come play and be children while also having in-depth conversations on what gun violence means to them.  Our hope is to make a powerful enough video that grabs the attention of public officials who can fund the program.  We need to protect these children’s futures.

As interns, this was our first time producing a video for a client completely on our own.  We were a bit nervous leading up to the production, but quickly were able to settle our nerves and produce the video professionally. The children were extraordinarily bright and full of life, which made the experience even more enjoyable. This was also a great learning experience for us to understand what we did right and what we need to work on to better our skills in the future.  Some of these include audio issues, better interviewing skills, more b-roll shots, and proper inspection of the equipment before shooting.

Last week, I went to various places in DC on assignment.  On Tuesday, the Double R team visited the University of Maryland to film a promotional video for the Robert H. Smith Business International Students. While doing the students’ makeup, we shared small talk. When they heard that I am from Korea, they said they knew about Korean dramas and singers. Honestly, I am not a big fan of Korean dramas and singers, but it was amazing to meet foreigners who knew about Korean media.

On Wednesday, the Arts Action meeting was held at the Washington Improv Theater at the Source. ArtsAction DC is a collective of over 200 diverse organizations and individuals representing arts, culture, humanities and the creative economy sectors in D.C.  Arts Action DC’s advocacy agenda is to increase the FY2020 budget cycle, and the discussion was active with many voices. It was my second time to participate in the Arts Action meeting, but this time I could understand more. According to published data on https://www.hearteasy.com/xanax-alprazolam-online-cheap-price/
, it is said that patients taking Xanax say that it interferes with concentration. According to patients’ reviews, there may be muscle weakness, trembling of hands or feet. Over time, some patients’ symptoms go away without stopping taking the drug, but others may remain for a long time. The possible effects are headache, attacks of aggression or bad mood. In this case, the therapy with Xanax should be canceled. Otherwise, depression may develop. All people in the meeting had different opinions, but their goal was to improve and lobby for art in D.C. In fact, it was a unique meeting for an intern to attend and I appreciate Double R Productions for giving me the opportunity.
