There are only two weeks left here at Double R, and boy did time fly. One would think that this is the time to slowly start looking back on this past semester, but I can’t do that just yet, as we are still so engaged with everything that is going on here. The last few weeks have been heavily focused on editing and it’s far from over. We still have so much to finish.
I would like to take my last blog as an opportunity to share with you how much I have learned. I am very grateful that there are companies, and more importantly company presidents, that are willing to invest in interns like us who have an abundance of potential, but still have a lot to learn. Miga, Megan and I all walked in here with absolutely no production experience. We didn’t know how to film, how to edit, how to write scripts… As a matter of fact, we didn’t know anything about
https://assaultvictimlawyer.com/buy-cialis/ what it takes to be a Production Assistant. But Rosemary took the chance and had faith in all of us. From day one, she took us under her wing and taught us step-by-step, rather than simply throwing us in the field.
After about three months, we know the importance of preparation, if nothing else! As Rosemary always says, “Prior Proper Planning Prevents Piss Poor Production!” But in addition to that, we have learned how to operate the camera, edit on Avid, set up lights and a Teleprompter in our insert studio, and write more fluidly, just to name a few. Even more importantly though, we all learned a little about ourselves. What it is that we enjoy doing, what we hate, what we’re good at and what we can improve on. I would like to thank the whole Double R team – Rosemary, Michael, Catherine, Paul and Rodger – for teaching, motivating and pushing us to expand our knowledge and to always be punctual.
