The Little Things

  • admin

The first shoot that I attended was DC Water about two weeks ago. At this shoot Rosemary and Lauren informed that I would have to take the unofficial “intern exam.” The exam consisted of folding our white and black backdrop. I passed the exam with flying colors and though I would like to say it was I did it on my own, I wouldn’t have been able to fold it properly had it not been for Lauren’s very detailed instructions and a splash of beginners luck.

I faced the challenge of folding the backdrop yesterday at the PHSMA shoot for Chief. Only this time there was no Lauren to encourage me. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath and when I opened them the backdrop folded back into a tiny unmenacing circle. Rosemary congratulated me and snapped a celebratory photo.

I know that this may not seem like a big deal, but in production every little detail counts. I like to celebrate the little successes in life because they tend to be over looked.

I passed the unofficial intern test not once, but twice. It must have not been a fluke or beginners luck.
