As a Journalism Major with a print background, the word ‘Production’ did not necessarily strike up my alley. However, in speaking with Rosemary, CEO/Owner, I knew that Double R Productionswould be a great fit. Granted it would take some time to get used to the whole technical aspect of things, like the camera, but after I learn it will be smooth sailing. Meeting my fellow interns, Laurence and Jose, prior to the internship made things all the more better because I was able to assess their personalities beforehand and see if we would all gel or not. Luckily for their sake, we did. Fate, if you will.
On Day One we got right into the logistics, which may seem like a bit much at first. But I was not discouraged. We took a tour of the neighborhood and got lost on that scavenger hunt, which helped us assess our surroundings. That picture above was taken during the “bank run” portion of our scavenger hunt. Together we also shot video according to our very first intern script. This unedited project is our “In the Camera” video.
I assisted Rosemary in a meeting with Liz Lokey from Maslow Media Group. Yes perspective Double R interns, in not even a matter of days, YOU WILL BE contributing to a number of affairs, from both inside and outside the office. The entire staff is very friendly, and as interns, we even get our very own office! If you are looking to get an interactive hands-on experience while learning new things along the way and even meeting very important/influential people at any given opportunity, then Double R is definitely the place to be!
