Being Prepared
Being organized is key to being successful in the production business. By preparing for assignments and shoots ahead of time we leave no room for mistakes. In other words, “Prior proper planning prevents piss poor production,” as Rosemary says.
This week, we are sending out Double Rpost cards. This year’s postcard reads, “Choose the video production company that LEAVES you breathless,” to coincide with fall. Meanwhile we are working hard on creating even more creative ideas for next year’s post card. We are to determined to make this the best Double R post card yet!
We also edited on the AVID system for the Allison Silberberg Mayoral Campaign. By cutting, splicing and adding music we made great progress with our first individual assignment. At first, we made a lot of mistakes however the more we edited and asked questions, the more we learned about the software. This empowered us to put our vision to vide. This Campaign video will be finished by the end of this week and we are really excited.
All Set
With three weeks under our belt, Hiwot and I are getting by just fine on our own. Rosemary tested our knowledge with an intern quiz.
This tested how much we learned from our intern handbook as well as our colleagues. The quiz was on everything from properly greeting our guests to editing on AVID. We felt nervous but the first three weeks here taught us a lot. We made call sheets, applied makeup, set up shoots and edited our own footage. We were more than ready.
The quiz turned out well and we exceeded all expectations. And now that we have passed, we must continue to prove ourselves to be great Production Assistants here at Double R.
