It’s been exactly 3 weeks since I first set foot in the Double R office! On the one hand being here still feels kind of unreal but on the other hand it also seems ages ago – and I mean that in a good way. There is so much going on that time flies by. Before getting to DC I was so nervous! I literally couldn’t sleep the two nights before I left Belgium and hopped on the plane to Dulles airport. I worried about my roommates, whether we would get along, what interning at Double R would be like, whether I would get homesick. Looking back, I know now that there was absolutely no need for this. Once you get here you just go with the flow. On top of that everyone here at Double R is really nice so that makes life so much easier!
I have enjoyed so many new experiences already. For starters there’s the shoots. First giving recognition to Maslow Media Group, I assisted Rosemary, Catherine and Gino at the National Credit Union Association. I must admit not everything went according to plan. We were ready to start filming when we found out that there was something wrong with the TelePrompTer…
Talk about an unpleasant discovery! But even when technology goes wrong you have to make the best of it, which is exactly what the Double R team did. We came up with a quick fix and got the job done despite this bump in the road.
In the office we answer calls, write Friday notes, brainstorm our intern scripts, vlogs and blogs, search for music, visuals and various elements for client projects, keep track of news for a year-in-review video, operate the TelePrompTer and camera and edit on Avid. I am proud to say that we have survived so far!
Oh one more thing I would like to mention to you all, I have been fine-tuning my closed-captioning skills on FDA projects for Maslow Media group and McKinney and associates! So if you need closed captioning done, you know where to find me 😉
Feel free to contact us below and we’ll respond at our earliest convenience.
